Now I love vintage patterns. I try to collect as many as I can. Especially the 1940's and 1950's. I wasn't even a twinkle in my parents eye at that time but I have an appreciation for the fashion of that time. With Simplicity 1059 caught my eye not only for the pattern design but also for some pattern hacking i had in mind.

This is one of the Jiffy dress patterns! It only has 2 or 3 main pattern pieces. The pattern includes a V-neck dress with long sleeves, or sleeveless and optional sash or scarf. I chose to cut the size 16 and opted for the sash and long sleeves. I really was torn as to use the bishopl sleeve per the pattern or do trumpet sleeves. I thought it would look good either way. After taking a poll i decided to go with the bishop sleeve.
This pattern was very easy to put together. I used a cotton fabric. I can't remember where I bought because I have had this in my stash for approximately 2 years. The only altering I did was in the waist and length of the dress. The waist was too big from the pattern and too short in length. I don't like my dresses or skirts above or too much above my knee.
